Section 01Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and World Financial Screen LLC ("World Financial Screen," "we," "us" or "our"). They govern your use of worldfinancialscreen.com, our booking calendar, our consultations and educational sessions, and our communications (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms here with a new "Last updated" date, and material changes will take effect 30 days after posting. Continued use of the Services after that date means you accept the revised Terms.
Section 02Using our website
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our website for your personal, lawful, non-commercial purposes, such as learning about our services and booking a consultation.
You agree not to:
- provide false, misleading or someone else's information when booking or contacting us;
- use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent or defamatory purpose;
- copy, scrape or republish our content without written permission;
- interfere with the security or operation of the website, or attempt to access systems or data you are not authorised to access.
If you breach these rules, we may suspend or end your access to the Services and take any action permitted by law.
Section 03Our role as an insurance agency
World Financial Screen LLC is a licensed insurance agency. We are not an insurance company, a bank, a broker-dealer or a registered investment adviser.
- Insurance products are issued by third-party carriers that we are appointed to represent. The carrier, not World Financial Screen, decides whether to issue coverage, sets the premium and pays claims.
- We are generally compensated by commissions paid by the carrier when a policy is issued. You do not pay us a separate fee for consultations or needs analyses, and we will disclose our compensation on request.
- We are currently licensed in Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Washington DC, Florida, Pennsylvania, Colorado and Connecticut. Product availability varies by state, and we only offer products we are licensed and appointed to sell in your state.
Section 04Applications, coverage and claims
Application accuracy
You are responsible for making sure every answer on an insurance application is complete, accurate and truthful. Misstatements or omissions, including about health, tobacco use or other policies, may lead a carrier to adjust, rescind or deny coverage or a claim, including during a policy's contestability period. Knowingly providing false information to obtain insurance may be a crime.
Underwriting and timelines
Carriers may require medical questionnaires, exams, records or third-party reports before making a decision. Underwriting timelines are set by the carrier and typically range from a few days to several weeks. We will keep you informed but cannot control or guarantee a carrier's decision or timeline.
Quotes versus coverage
An illustration, estimate or quote is not a policy and does not bind coverage. Coverage begins only when the carrier approves your application, issues the policy and any required initial premium has been paid, according to the carrier's terms. Do not cancel an existing policy until your new coverage is in force.
Claims
Claims are submitted to and paid by the issuing carrier under the terms of the policy. We will help you or your beneficiaries gather documents and follow up, but the carrier makes all claim decisions.
Exclusions and limits
Every policy has exclusions, limitations, riders and conditions, such as suicide or contestability clauses. The issued policy, not our summaries or this website, controls. Please read your policy carefully and ask us about anything that is unclear.
Cancellation and non-renewal
Most life insurance policies include a free-look period, usually at least 10 days after delivery, during which you may cancel for a refund of premium as described in the policy. Cancellation, lapse and non-renewal rights after that period are governed by your policy and state law.
Section 05Consultations and educational content
Our consultations, financial education sessions, plan summaries and website content are provided for general education. They are based on the information you share with us and on assumptions that may change.
- They are not tax, legal or investment advice. Please consult a qualified tax professional or attorney about your specific situation.
- Projections, illustrations and examples are hypothetical, are not guaranteed, and do not predict future results.
- You remain responsible for your own financial decisions, including whether to purchase any product.
Section 06Career opportunities
We welcome enquiries from people interested in careers in the financial services industry. Any career discussion is exploratory and does not create an offer of employment or a contractor relationship until a written agreement is signed.
Selling insurance requires a state licence and carrier appointments. We make no guarantee of income, earnings or success; results depend on individual effort, licensing, market conditions and other factors.
Section 07Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE WEBSITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE WEBSITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WORLD FINANCIAL SCREEN AND ITS OWNERS, AGENTS AND STAFF WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE WEBSITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE WEBSITE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or any duty we owe you as a licensed insurance producer under applicable insurance law.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, outages, carrier system failures, pandemics or government action.
Section 08Intellectual property
The World Financial Screen name, logo, website design, text, graphics and other content are owned by or licensed to World Financial Screen LLC and are protected by trademark and copyright law. Photographs are used under licence.
You may view and print pages for your personal use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works from our content, or use our name or logo, without our prior written consent.
Section 09Information you submit
You are responsible for the information you submit to us through forms, emails, texts or our booking calendar, and you confirm that you have the right to share it, including information about family members.
If you send us feedback, reviews or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use them to improve our services. We will not publish a testimonial or review with your name without your written permission. We may remove or decline to use any submission at our discretion.
Section 10Third-party links and services
The Services may link to or embed third-party websites and tools, such as carrier portals and our booking calendar provider. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
Section 11Privacy and regulatory compliance
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We handle client information in line with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, state insurance privacy laws and other applicable privacy laws.
World Financial Screen and its insurance professionals are licensed and regulated by the insurance departments of the states in which we do business, and we follow applicable state insurance laws, including rules on licensing, advertising, suitability, replacements and record-keeping, as well as federal telemarketing and messaging rules.
You may contact your state insurance department with questions or complaints about an insurance professional or company. In Maryland, contact the Maryland Insurance Administration, 200 St. Paul Place, Suite 2700, Baltimore, MD 21202. Phone 410-468-2000 or 1-800-492-6116 (TTY 1-800-735-2258). insurance.maryland.gov.
Section 12Dispute resolution and governing law
Talk to us first. Most concerns can be resolved quickly. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us and give us 30 days to try to resolve the matter informally.
Binding arbitration
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the website will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, held in Prince George's County, Maryland, or by video. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
This arbitration agreement does not apply to disputes about the terms, coverage or claims under an insurance policy, which are governed by the policy, the carrier's procedures and applicable insurance law, and it does not limit your right to file a complaint with an insurance regulator.
No class actions
You and we agree that disputes will be brought only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative action.
Your right to opt out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] with your name and the subject line "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of first using the Services.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by the Federal Arbitration Act. Any matter not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Prince George's County, Maryland, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Section 13Termination
We may suspend or end your access to the website at any time if you violate these Terms or use the Services in a way that could harm us, our clients or others. You may stop using the Services at any time.
Ending access to the website does not cancel any insurance policy. Policies remain in force according to their own terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, including those on disclaimers, limitation of liability, intellectual property and dispute resolution, survive termination.
Section 14Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will stay in full force.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and World Financial Screen about use of the website and supersede any prior agreements on that subject. They do not replace or modify any insurance policy, application or other written agreement you sign, which govern their own subject matter. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
